It is my great pleasure to announce that the Clinical Research Platform, Bangladesh is going to organize the 1st Scientific Congress on Noncommunicable Diseases to be held on 19-21th October, 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Clinical Research Platform, Bangladesh is a tripartite initiative of the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) with the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), and British Medical Journal (BMJ) supported by the Fogarty International Center (FIC) through the project “Planning for Non-Communicable Diseases and Disorders Research Training Programs in Low and Middle Income Countries (D71)”. http://www.crplatform.icddrb.org/
The goal of the 1st National Congress on NCD is to pave the pathway of a strong institutional platform for strengthening research collaborations between the clinicians and the public health researchers in Bangladesh, and create an enabling environment for the local researchers to show case their research. One of the important aims of the Congress is to bring solutions from the non health sectors for NCD control and improve the quality of care in Bangladesh.
The Platform invites doctors, researchers, public health physicians, health managers, policy makers, academia, government agencies, industries, media, NGOs, INGO, community groups, professional societies and scientists from Bangladesh who have been interested to generate solutions to halt the rising epidemic of the Noncommunicable diseases (NCD) in Bangladesh and set examples for the other low and middle income countries (LMIC).
We look forward to disseminating more than 100 papers generated from high quality research in NCD before ~500 delegates, and stimulate vibrant debates over the burning global vs. local issues of NCDs. I welcome you to submit your abstracts and join the Platform.
